Maxskate is a lovely young woman from England who visited my web site one day. She loves skating, did a search for roller skating sites and happened upon me. We started emailing back and forth and then we started the Instant Message thing. Max is so interested in skating that we formed a great cyber friendship. She sits up late at night and does searches to look at roller skating sites. When she finds good ones she sends me the pictures. I had no idea that there were any Roller Shows in other countries till she sent me some of the pictures you will see on this site.
This is Max when she was just a young skater, about 11 years old. She belonged to a Skate Club and they practiced in the Gym of a School Building. Some time after this picture was taken Max lost some interest in Skating because of Boys and School but she says she is now back hard at it and enjoys every minute of the time she spends Skating
A little story goes with the following pictures. Last summer Max and her family were enjoying a family Holiday in Germany when a discussion about Skating started and Max ended up making her father a bet that he was too scared to try roller skating. These pictures are proof that Old Dad is not scared at all and had a nice time doing it! Needless to say Max lost the bet which was to buy her parents dinner! And yes Dad said he fell 3 times and it did hurt!
Here is Dad at the local new Roller Skating Center. While Max was off shoping Dad and Mum set out for the local rink to win a bet. Dad left his camera home but got aquainted with a German dad and not only got his picture taken but got first hand instruction from the German dad's skating daughter.
Mum and Dad quickly made friends and here is Dad looking very comfortable on his skates. Dad says the skates are his from years ago but have been gathering dust in the closet because he has problems with balance just in shoes! Thank You Dad for sharing your skating holiday memories with us.
Be sure and take a good look at the pictures above. They were taken at the new Skating facility they have built in Germany. Dad says they are not done yet and eventually it will be enclosed but for now it is open and airy. Note the figure circles on the floor.
